Job Description

Welder Fabricator for Structural Steel

In this role the successful candidate will be required to fabricate and assemble structural steel metal products and metal parts for buildings and building components according to job order or blueprints.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Cut, punch, drill, weld and assemble carbon and stainless steel assemblies

  • Hammers, chips, and grinds work piece to cut, bend, and straighten metal.

  • Verifies conformance of work piece to specifications, using square, ruler, and measuring tape.

  • Positions, aligns, fits, and welds together parts, using jigs, welding torch, and hand tools

  • Sets up and operates fabricating machines, such as brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, and drill presses

  • Sets up and operates machine tools associated with fabricating shops, such as iron worker, mill, lathe

  • Designs and constructs templates and fixtures, using hand tools

  • Must adhere to all company safety policies and procedures

Key Skillets:

  • ? Ability to use variety of tools and equipment

  • Basic math skills and mechanical aptitude

  • Ability to read blueprints and recognize welding symbols and specifications

  • Knowledge of industry safety practices

  • Develops layout and plans sequence of operations for fabricating and assembling structural metal products, applying trigonometry and knowledge of metal

  • Locate and marks bending and cutting lines onto work piece, allowing for stock thickness and machine and welding shrinkage.

  • Knowledge of specific welding processes, such as TIG, MIG and ARC

  • Ability to use heavy machinery, such as forklifts and cranes

Physical Demands:

  • Light to Moderately heavy lifting, pulling, pushing weights from 25lbs-75lbs, reaching, standing, stooping, squatting, kneeling, bending over, stepping up and down.

  • Must be able to stand at work station for extended periods of time.

  • Must be able to constantly reach with both hands and arms.

  • Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment.

  • Must be able to withstand a noisy, dusty environment.

  • Must adhere to all company safety policies.

  • Must be able to work in both hot and cold atmosphere depending on weather conditions.

Education and Experience:

  • HS or GED

  • Technical school a plus

  • Must have the ability to successfully pass and obtain MIG weld vertical down Certification

Salary: The successful candidate's salary will be based on the candidate's relevant experience, education and skills.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
